I'm very proud of myself because I spent a few hours researching coupons and store deals. After a more hours of shopping, I saved a ton of money.
Stop #1: Staples
16 Double Rolls of Charmin Toilet Paper on sale for $4.99. Regularly $8.99.
I had coupons for 15% off and 20% off, so I made a few trips, scoring them for $4 each or $4.50 each.
I got 8 of them.
Stop #2: Bartell's
Tub of Pampers wipes, regularly $3.99. With sale and coupon, I got them for $0.99 each, so I bought 2.
Stop #3: Safeway
I stocked up on summery food items, taking full advantage of buy one, get one frees. In the end, I bought $178 of groceries for $66.90, a savings of 52%.
Stop #3: Target
Had coupons for 2 free loafs of bread, $0.99 dozen of eggs, and 2.5 lbs of frozen chicken breasts for $4.49. I used Target gift cards, so I paid nothing out of pocket.
Stop #4: Rite Aid
Sunglasses 1: $12.99
Sunglasses 2: $9.99
Herbal Essences Shampoo: Sale $2.50
Herbal Essences Conditioner: Sale $2.50
With coupons, I bought all of this for: $2.69
Stop #5: Babies R US
We stuffed a tote and got an extra 30% off clearance items. We ended up with $171 worth of clothes for Xavier for $60, including tax!!!!
Our refrigerator is full, our cabinets are bursting, and Joe is concerned about the storage closet becoming the toilet paper closet. But all in all, I spent LESS than I do at the grocery store weekly and got MORE products. This couponing thing is working!
